I’ve just walked through one of the toughest battles of my life—the battle for my mind.

You would think writing a book on the subject of anxiety would make me an expert in avoiding a spiritual attack on my mind. But I think it might have made me a bigger target. What better way to attack the Kingdom of God than to disarm a Christ-follower?

First, I’m thankful for the grace and mercy of God. I also appreciate the intercession of a few prayer warriors and the timely words of another faith writer. Plus, the Lord continues to remind me to rely on the promises in His Word to help me stand against the devil’s lies.

Today. I read the Lord’s promise to guard my heart and my mind with his peace (Phil. 4:7). So that is the prayer I would like to share with you today.

Lord, guard my heart and my mind with your peace. Amen.

Maybe you’ve been experiencing a spiritual attack on your mind. The devil desires to discourage you and create doubt about your faith. But as you begin to claim God’s promises and pray His Word, speaking His truth to your soul, your deliverance will be certain.

Don’t trust your own logic and emotions—instead, focus on God’s Word.

The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:5-7 NIV).

When was the last time you faced a battle with your negative self-talk?
